Roswell Park Promotes Three from Finance Team to Leadership Roles

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Ryan Grady, CPA, has been appointed Vice President of Finance and Payer Relations at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and will lead the Institute’s finance team. He will oversee Roswell Park’s financial reporting, accounting and treasury management operations, financial planning and reimbursement operations. In addition, he will oversee the comprehensive cancer center’s managed-care and payer-relations activities.

“Ryan brings a depth of experience and a commitment to quality improvement that will be an asset to Roswell Park at a time of rapidly changing economics and in an ever-evolving healthcare market,” says Gregory McDonald, Chief Financial Officer at Roswell Park. “Our Finance Department will be in outstanding hands under his leadership, as he has consistently demonstrated the skills necessary to support and enhance the Institute’s financial position.”

Grady joined Roswell Park in May 2014 after nearly 15 years in public accounting. In his previous role as Director of Finance Transformation, he was responsible for the development and implementation of various improvement programs within the Finance Department.

A lifelong Western New Yorker, Grady holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting and finance from the University at Buffalo and is a Certified Public Accountant of the State of New York. He is a member of the New York State Society of CPAs, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Healthcare Financial Management Association. He also is active in a number of community organizations, including the Finance Committee of Community Partners of Western New York. He is a past member of the Buffalo Arts Studio and the American Heart Association boards of directors and the United Way Campaign Cabinet.

Scott Matthews, CPA, who was promoted from Manager of Treasury and Finance to Director of Finance. He will be responsible for the Institute’s accounting and financial reporting functions, and will also oversee treasury operations and the accounts payable and payroll departments.

Todd Maier, CPA, who was promoted from Manager of Finance Transformation to Director of Financial Analytics and Planning. Maier will oversee both the budgeting and business intelligence functions within the finance department.
