Roswell Park Presents Third Annual Dr. Enrico Mihich Lecture

BUFFALO, NY – Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center will host the third annual Dr. Enrico Mihich lecture series on Wednesday, October 14, at 8 am in the Zebro Conference Room, Center for Genetics and Pharmacology, on the main Roswell Park campus. “Mechanisms and Therapeutic Targeting of the Tumor Microenvironment” will be presented by Douglas Hanahan, PhD, Director of the Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer Research in Lausanne.

Dr. Hanahan, who also holds a joint appointment at the University of California, San Francisco, investigates the multistage pathways that govern tumor formation and progression, and the benefits of mechanism-based targeted therapies. He has authored over 150 publications.

The Dr. Enrico Mihich Lecture was created in 2007 to honor a lifetime achievement in cancer research by Dr. Mihich, Distinguished Member of the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at Roswell Park. Dr. Mihich has been affiliated with Roswell Park since 1958 and is a recognized expert in the development of cancer therapeutics. He is past President of the American Association of Cancer Research and was a member of the U.S. National Cancer Institute Advisory Board. Dr. Mihich has authored more than 400 scientific publications and has served on the editorial boards of 16 scientific journals.
