BUFFALO, N.Y. — Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center has once again been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s 100 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Oncology Programs, an annual list of centers that are national leaders in patient care, cancer outcomes and research.

“The hospitals featured on this list have a reputation for innovation and expertise in treating cancer patients,” the news outlet notes. “Many of the hospitals and health systems included on this list incorporate the latest technology to improve outcomes into their programs while also ensuring a superior patient experience.”

In selecting facilities for the Great Oncology Programs feature, the Becker’s editorial team analyzed data from sources including the U.S. News & World Report cancer care rankings, CareChex cancer care rankings, BlueCross BlueShield Association Blue Distinction Cancer designation, National Cancer Institute designations and American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer accreditation and awards.

“Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center was the nation’s first cancer center, founded in 1898,” Becker’s notes in its description of Roswell Park, which goes on to highlight other key Institute accomplishments from recent years.

Roswell Park has appeared on every version of this list since Becker’s Hospital Review initiated it as “30 Hospitals With Great Oncology Programs” in 2010. See the full 2017 Great Oncology Programs list here.
