The Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) has an important role in making decisions about hospital programs and policies with our patients’ best interests brought to the forefront. The 25-member council — co-facilitated by Kara Eaton, Executive Director of Patient and Family Experience, and Richard Satterwhite, Patient Engagement Specialist — is now accepting applications for new members. Some of the recent initiatives that our team contributed to include:
- Clinical Pathways and Chemotherapy Education Program
- Katherine, Anne and Donna Gioia Pediatric Hematology Oncology Center Build
- OpenNotes and the Patient Portal
- Inpatient Falls Prevention and the Standardization of Colored Wrist Bands to Promote Hospital safety
