Spiritual Care by Week, Football Superfan by Weekend!
Our Director of Spiritual Care may spend her weekdays comforting and supporting patients, families and employees, but on the weekend she has another passion – football!
A season ticket holder of 20 years, you can find her every home-game Sunday tailgating in the lots outside the stadium. However, it hasn’t always been this way. Dr. Lenegan is a self-admitted football convert. In fact, she didn’t even like football until a Catholic priest introduced the sport to her! She recalls with fondness that her first games involved sitting in the car with a can of chips, but now she arrives at 8 a.m. and even recently bought a fancy new grill with her niece.
Dr. Lenegan is passionate about the importance of relaxation and work-life balance. She explains that rituals, whether religious or secular, have an important place in human society. Coming together over a shared goal or shared outlook can lead to bonds and emotions that help develop a fulfilled life.
