Improving Care Delivery Through Technology

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is growing, and with that growth we’ve had to make many internal changes to meet the expectations of your patients. We’ve added services, crucial support staff and expertise in key areas.

As customers across every industry are becoming accustomed to the advanced technologies of Amazon, Google and Disney, Roswell Park is embracing the innovation of these market disruptors to streamline access, communication and experience.

One of the biggest enhancements is our Central Access Center, supported by technology that allows us to triage patients from their first engagement throughout the course of their journey at Roswell Park. This technology allows seamless communication between providers and support staff at Roswell Park and our Roswell Park Care Network, who share 40% of our nearly 50,000 active patients. The objective of this Roswell-developed technology is to ensure that no patient falls through the cracks when moving between providers and services by integrating the electronic health record, the patient portal and the website.

RPMD App Allows Mobile Connections

To enhance communication with our community partners, and in keeping up with the mobility of our business interactions, we have created a free physician-to-physician app that can be downloaded through the Google or Apple app stores. On the RPMD app, you can find a specialist by disease site or by searching alphabetically by physician name. Many Roswell Park physicians have included their mobile phones as well as their email addresses. You can now refer a patient directly through the app, to a specific physician, or to a disease-site team. We are continually updating and providing new features, so please download the app to stay connected. Website Provides Education for Partners in Practice

As your academic partner in oncology, we have developed a robust educational platform to keep you abreast of the rapid changes occurring in cancer prevention, treatment and survivorship. Our team of experts are continually sharing their knowledge throughout the world, and we are now making this information available to everyone.

At you will find the Roswell Park Physician Resource Center that provides information you can use in your everyday practice. Funded through an educational grant from BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, the platform provides educational videos related to treating a cancer survivor or helping identify when cancer looks like something else. You will also find digital classes where you can earn Continuing Medical Education credits.

The information is targeted to physicians who have a busy practice and would like to keep up-to-date on the rapid evolution of cancer treatment. It is continuously being refreshed.
