Application Page for High School Summer Research Internship Program in Cancer Science

Instructions to high school applicants:  Follow the instructions below to ensure that your application is submitted on time and reviewed for consideration.

Deadline for all application materials is: January 10th, 2019

Step 1: Review available internships

Review the directory of available internships (coming November 1) It is highly recommended you print or reference this list when ranking your choice of internship in the online application.

Step 2: Prepare personal statement question

Take time to review the personal statement question ahead of time in order to prepare your answers. 

Step 3: Choose your references

In the online application, you will be asked to provide contact information for TWO references. These may be either a teacher, advisor or other individual who can assess your abilities in science. Be sure to notify this individual that you are using them as a reference and that they should expect an email from the program (email domain: asking them to complete an online recommendation on your behalf.

Step 4: Complete the online application

Step 5: Application fee

The $35 non-refundable application fee can be paid online. Once the application is complete, applicants will be directed to a payment portal where they will be able to pay online using credit card or receive instructions to pay by check if they choose this method of payment. 

Step 6: Complete and mail supplemental application materials

Depending on the supplemental material type, it may be sent via "snail"-mail or scanned and emailed by DEADLINE date of January 24, 2020:

The Guidance Counselor form should be sent by "snail mail" using the address below. Guidance counselor should seal form in official school envelope:

The Parental Consent Form can either be sent by "snail-mail" using the instructions above OR by email. If sending by email, be sure to attach scanned PDF versions of documents and have parent send from their email account. Documents sent from applicant's email address will not be accepted. Be sure to include the following in the subject line- RPCI Summer Program- (Student's Last Name, Student's First Initial)
