North-South Breast Cancer Study (NSBCS)

North-South Breast Cancer Study

The North-South Breast Cancer Study (NSBCS), formerly New York Breast Cancer Study, is working with the New York State Cancer Registry and the Louisiana Tumor Registry to understand how factors and events in our daily lives influence the development of cancer and how they may affect how well breast cancer treatments work. Participants are invited to participate throughout New York State and Louisiana and contribute to answering important questions about the relationships between our daily lives and breast cancer.

NSBCS is led by Christine Ambrosone, PhD, whose research focuses on finding causes of breast cancer and factors that affect breast cancer treatment outcomes. We are also working with Witness Cares, LLC to provide specialized recruitment for the study.

Research is a tool to help explore new methods to enhance early detection and development of cutting-edge treatments. Lorraine

Who is eligible to participate?

Eligible women diagnosed within New York State and Louisiana will be contacted by their respective State’s Cancer Registry and the NSBCS Study Team directly.

I participated in the research study because if I can prevent just one person from going through what I did, I consider that a success.Rebecca
