Community Alliance to Reach, Empower and Sustain
Roswell Park developed the CARES Program to support and strengthen our connection with the people and organizations of the Buffalo community. Buffalo is called the City of Good Neighbors and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center considers being a good neighbor and citizen to be an important responsibility.
What we do
We aim to provide volunteer labor and/or project management support for new initiatives that positively affect our community. These initiatives may take many forms. In the past, we have helped organizations with their:
- Events. These have included a blood drive, cancer screening, food drive, job fair, resume writing workshop, and neighborhood cleanup.
If your organization has a new initiative that serves the greater Buffalo-Niagara community, we may be able to help. Your organization must be a not-for-profit or 501(c)(3) organization, at least three years old and in good standing. Requests for monetary donations will not be considered.
To establish partnerships and collaboration within our communities that increase knowledge and awareness, reduce or eliminate health disparities, promote sustainability and support those who are marginalized or economically disadvantaged.
By connecting with, providing for, and working with our community, this committee will support the vision of Roswell Park — freeing our world from fear, pain and loss due to cancer. This will be accomplished by partnering with our neighbors to bring knowledge and resources within reach, enriching lives and fostering a healthier and happier world.
