Myron Czuczman, MD, led the world’s first clinical research study that combined standard chemotherapy with rituximab (Rituxan®) to treat lymphoma. Today, the addition of rituximab to chemotherapy is the worldwide standard-of-care treatment for most B-cell lymphomas.

Our physicians are among the experts who set the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Guidelines, developed on the basis of scientific data, that annually recommend the best ways of preventing, detecting and treating specific types of lymphoma.

We rank in the top 10 percent nationally in patient outcomes for allogeneic blood or marrow transplantation (BMT) (involving marrow or stem cells from a donor) at BMT centers that perform allogeneic transplants. BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York has named Roswell Park a Blue Distinction Center for Transplants® — one of only 83 in the nation to earn that title for BMT.

Wayne talks about the treatment he received for non-Hodgkin lymphoma at RPCI and how he was able to remain mentally strong.

Pioneering Clinical Trials
