This type of cellular therapy offers a powerful new option for many patients with lymphoma
Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy uses your immune system’s T cells as a “living drug.” Your own T cells are collected from your blood in a process that is like donating blood. Your T cells are sent to a laboratory where they are engineered to produce a certain protein (antigen) that helps them find and attach to the cancer cells.
These cells are multiplied by millions and returned to you through an IV infusion. Then your supercharged T cells go to work to find and destroy your cancer cells.
Roswell Park is an authorized provider for all FDA-approved CAR-T-cell therapies for lymphoma, including:
- Breyanzi
- Tecartus
- Yescarta
CAR T-cell therapy may be an option your team considers for you if your first treatment(s) have not worked or stopped working, or your cancer recurred quickly.
