What are the signs of kidney cancer?
Read our blog: Is back pain an indication of kidney cancer?
Like many cancer types, early-stage kidney cancer doesn’t reveal itself with symptoms. Many people learn they have a kidney tumor or mass by chance, when undergoing a CT scan for another reason. Or, a urine test as part of a routine health checkup detects microscopic traces of blood in the urine. However, be sure to tell your doctor if you experience any of these symptoms:
- Blood in the urine, even microscopic
- Persistent pain in the side
- A lump in the side of the abdomen
- Weight loss
- Fever
- Feeling very tired or a general feeling of being unwell
These signs may also indicate a kidney infection, a cyst or another health problem, but it’s important to get an accurate diagnosis.
