Why do people like working at Roswell Park? Our employees tell us they like being part of something important that impacts the world in a positive way. Taking care of our patients and our community goes hand in hand, and we offer many ways to get involved for a good cause, including:
- Donate blood or platelets. Our patients need a steady supply of blood products and that can only be proved by human donors.
- Help raise money for cancer research. All donated funds are managed by the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization and stay right here in WNY, helping our own families, friends and neighbors. The foundation hosts several premier events for you to join, fundraise or volunteer, including the Ride for Roswell, IceCycle, All Star Night and more!
- Take care of our neighbors. We hold several drives to collect items needed by our neighbors, including Thanksgiving turkeys, holiday toys, school supplies, and more. Get involved with Roswell Park’s CARES program which helps provide funding, project management and volunteers to local organizations.
Recognition programs
Roswell Park recognizes and celebrates employees for all you do in several ways and we are always exploring ways to add new recognition initiatives. Highlights of our current programs include:
- Departmental recognition. Throughout the year, key days, weeks and even months are dedicated to bringing recognition to various departments and professions.
- Daisy Award is an international program that recognizes the extraordinary work and skill of nurses. Roswell Park recognizes eight nurses a year through the DAISY program.
- Longevity program recognizes employees who achieve milestone years of service, beginning with a 5-year milestone.
- 25-year Celebration Dinner honors employees who reach 25 years of service with ceremony, celebration and a special award to commemorate their achievement and commitment to Roswell Park.
