Principal Investigator: Prasenjit Dey, PhD
Prasenjit earned his MS in clinical chemistry at Manipal University, India and a PhD in biochemistry in the laboratory of Dr. Jan-Ake Gustafsson at University of Houston in Texas.
He conducted his postdoctoral fellowship in Dr. Ronald DePinho’s laboratory at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He joined the faculty of Immunology at Roswell Park in August 2019 as an Assistant Professor of Oncology.

Postdoctoral Fellow
Aftab obtained his PhD from National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), Pune, India, under the supervision of Dr. Samit Chattopadhyay.
During his PhD studies, he elucidated the molecular mechanism of calnexin and MHC I regulation by SMAR1 in cancer cells and understanding the immune evasion mechanism.

Bhatta, PhD
Maulasri Bhatta, PhD
HRI Scientist
Mauli received her PhD in neuroscience from State University at New York (SUNY) at Buffalo under the supervision of Dr. Sarah X. Zhang.
During her PhD studies, she established a crucial role for endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress in endothelial progenitor cells in diabetes. Following her PhD, she was involved in the preclinical development of a novel drug for cancer immunotherapy at the start-up company Immune Modulatory Therapies LLC, in her role as a Senior Scientist.

Mayengbam, PhD
Shyamananda Mayengbam, PhD
Postdoctoral Fellow
Shyam received his PhD from National Centre for Cell Science (NCCS), Pune, India under the supervision of Dr. Manoj Kumar Bhat.
During his PhD studies, he focused on understanding the role of obesity and obesity associated factor, i.e., cholesterol, on colon cancer proliferation, initiation, tumor progression and its effect on glucose and lipid metabolism of colon cancer cells.

Sharon Senchanthisai, BS
Sharon received her BS in biotechnology and molecular bioscience from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Following undergrad, she worked as a lab technician for Dr. Bradford Berk at the University of Rochester before pursuing her predoctoral training at Roswell Park in fall of 2020.

Nkechi Odukwe, BS
Rotation Student, Spring 2022
Nkechi is a PhD student currently rotating at the lab. She obtained her MS in biotechnology science from Kean University in New Jersey, and a BS in chemistry education from University of Jos, Nigeria. Prior to starting her PhD program, she worked in the cell therapy development and operations unit at a major biopharma company. She is interested in immunotherapy, specifically CAR-T, beyond hematological malignancies.

Sarah Comer
University of Buffalo
Sarah is currently a senior biochemistry student at the University at Buffalo. She joined the lab as a participant in Roswell Park's Summer Program in Cancer Science. She primarily assists Dr. Bhatta with her project investigating the role of leukotriene signaling in colorectal cancer and irritable bowel disease.

Jasmine Warren
Roswell Park/Howard University Cancer Scholars Program
Jasmine Warren is a sophomore honors biology major, chemistry minor at Howard University. She is interested in pursuing an MD/PhD as a means to improve early identification of pancreatic cancer, thus increasing the survival rate. Jasmine joined the lab as a part of the Roswell Park Cancer Scholars Program.

Lamees obtained her bachelor's degree in biology from SUNY at Buffalo, NY (April 2018). She started her master's degree at Roswell Park in October 2019. Earlier she earned a German certificate from Goethe Institute at Frankfurt, Germany.
Brian Morreale, BS
Master's Student, 2020-2021
Brian obtained his bachelor's degree in psychology with minors in biology, medical humanities, and philosophy from Daemen College, Amherst NY (January 2020). He started his master’s degree at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in September 2020.
His current research focuses on the role of pancreatic tumor-derived exosomes on different subsets of immune cells.

Charlie graduated from Canisius High School in 2017 and is currently working on a BS at Oberlin College.
Parker Denz, BS
Lab Manager/Technician, 2019-2020
Parker earned his BS in microbiology at the University of Pittsburgh in April 2019. Parker joined the lab as a lab tech in August 2019 and helped to set up the lab. In summer 2020 Parker began pursuing a PhD in biomedical sciences at The Ohio State University.
Helena Solliero, PhD
Visiting Scientist, 2019-2020
Helena was a visiting scientist in the Dey lab. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Physiology at Autonomous University of Mexico City. She holds a bachelor's degree in biological and pharmaceutical chemistry and a PhD in biomedical science.
As a researcher, she studies the inflammatory response in some diseases (neurodegenerative, COPD, asthma, etc.) and conditions (parasitic infections, exposure to pollutants, etc.). She teaches physiology, chemistry and immunology to undergraduate and postgraduate students.
