The Cardio-Oncology service at Roswell Park provides clinical care to all inpatients and outpatients with cardiac disease or other cardiology needs.
Roswell Park is the only cancer treatment facility in the region with a dedicated Cardio-Oncology program and board-certified Cardio-Oncologist in order to optimize heart health before, during and after cancer treatment.
Services we offer
We work closely with our oncologists and oncologic surgeons to determine best cancer therapies for our patients with cardiac diseases, some of which preclude the use of certain chemotherapies and immunotherapies.
- Pretreatment cardiac risk assessment
- State-of-the-art cardiac testing on site (ECG, Echocardiography)
- Cardiac risk factor modification, prescribing indicated cardiac medications to improve cardiac health.
- Safe prescription of cancer therapies, monitoring for and treatment of cardiac toxicities, and immediate assessment and treatment of acute cardiac illness.
We refer to cardiology centers of excellence in the community for other testing and specialty services.
