As a Roswell Park patient, you’ll have a whole team looking out for you: physicians, nurses and physician assistants who specialize in the type of care you need, plus dietitians, clinical pharmacists, psychologists, dentists, physical therapists and many other experts, all working together to ensure the best results.
The Orientation and Caregiver Program
Whether you come to Roswell Park to receive cellular therapy or a blood or marrow transplant, your caregiver will be asked to take part in an Orientation and Caregiver Program, which presents information critical to maintaining the safest environment and providing the best care for you both during treatment and after you return home.
Survivorship & Supportive Care Center
Our Survivorship & Supportive Care Center offers services to help you manage the physical and emotional effects of your cancer diagnosis — including acupuncture, massage, mindfulness meditation, nutritional support, physical and occupational therapy, and much more. Specialists in the center can help you deal with such issues as chronic pain and fatigue. They will also develop a personalized survivorship plan specifying the care you will need to stay healthy after treatment has ended.
Help with practical matters
We can provide assistance for dealing with financial and legal concerns related to your diagnosis; help secure insurance authorization and coverage for the care you need; arrange transportation and lodging; set up advance care planning; and provide an interpreter if your primary language is not English.
Support groups and individual counseling
Cancer patients often experience anxiety and depression as a result of their diagnosis or treatment. Roswell Park provides psychological, emotional and spiritual support to help you cope with emotional distress and the disruptions and changes in your day-to-day life.
