Description of Duties

A postdoctoral position is open for a highly motivated candidate in the laboratory of Dr. Liya Ding in the Department of Immunology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. The research projects center on exploring the interactions between cancer cells and the host immune system, aiming to develop novel treatments for ovarian and prostate cancer patients.  A multidisciplinary approach that combines in vitro coculture systems of tumor cells and immune cells, in vivo syngeneic and humanized mouse models, CRISPR screening, scRNA-seq and advanced bioinformatic analyses is widely used in the laboratory to study the essential regulators of immunosuppression in tumor progression, metastasis, and therapeutic resistance, as well as the principles of anti-tumor immunity induced by targeted and immunotherapeutic approaches. The successful candidates will lead and conduct independent research projects associated with cancer biology and immunology. The research in the laboratory is funded by multiple grants from National Cancer Institute (NCI) and private foundations.

Qualifications

The candidates should have a PhD and/or MD in Cancer Biology, Immunology, or related fields. Experience of working with animal models or immune cells will be preferred.
