About Sarwat Rumi

Biography:

I attended graduate school at the Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine of the New York Chiropractic College, where I earned an MS in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2014. It was there that I first felt drawn toward working with cancer patients and survivors. My private practice, based in Western NY, attracted cancer survivors from its earliest days, and in 2018, I was invited to treat patients at Roswell Park, in the Survivorship and Supportive Care Center. Providing culturally sensitive, trauma-informed supportive care to patients and survivors on their cancer journey quickly became the heart of my practice. When the pandemic temporarily closed acupuncture services in New York State, I took the opportunity to complete my Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at the Pacific College of Health and Science, where I focused my studies on providing supportive care in integrative medicine settings. I am honored and excited to return to Roswell Park to serve the patients here during a historic time.
