Lockport Practice Opens as Newest Roswell Park Care Network Site

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Opening the doors to specialized cancer and dermatology services to patients in Niagara County and beyond, Roswell Park Care Network leaders announce their newest practice in Lockport.

“We continue to see a need for community-based practices, especially in northern Western New York,” says Thomas Schwaab, MD, PhD, urologist and Roswell Park Chief of Strategy, Business Development and Outreach. “Similar to our move earlier this year to Niagara Falls Boulevard in Niagara Falls, the Roswell Park Care Network is dedicated to bringing our expertise where it matters most.”

The Brocton Drive location will offer general dermatology plus surgical oncology and breast surgery consultations, treatment, and follow-up care with additional services added in the coming months. In addition to these services, patients will also be able to consult Care Network experts on Mohs surgery – a precise, surgical technique that removes thin layers of cancer-containing skin without disrupting healthy tissue.

Lockport patients will continue to have the benefit of Roswell Park-quality care as well as access to the multidisciplinary teams at the downtown Buffalo campus if additional care or treatment is needed.

Patients will be under the care of two new Care Network physicians – Daniel Bax, MD and Zachary Stiles, DO, MS – as well as a familiar face, Helen Cappuccino, MD, FACS. Dr. Bax, a board-certified dermatologist, recently completed a Mohs surgery fellowship at the University of Vermont Medical Center and is a graduate of the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Stiles comes to the Care Network following a fellowship in complex general surgical oncology at Roswell Park and holds his doctorate from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. Surgical oncologist Dr. Cappuccino, on staff at Roswell Park in downtown Buffalo for nearly 25 years, will consult with patients in Lockport once a month.

The Roswell Park Care Network was established in 2019 to expand convenient access to cancer treatment and services guided by experts at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
