Nothing about cancer is easy, but at Roswell Park, we’ll help make your travel here worth every mile.
More than 3,000 of our patients travel more than 100 miles — from across New York State, from 42 other states plus Canada — to receive cancer care at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo, NY.
As the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in New York State outside of New York City, we offer leading experts and cutting-edge treatment options unavailable elsewhere in the region.
How we can help
Buffalo, NY is a cosmopolitan city that combines the attractions of a larger city with the ease, friendliness and affordability of a smaller destination. Everything — travel, lodging, dining and respite — is simpler (and less expensive) in Buffalo.
- Streamlined appointments. We’ll aim to coordinate multiple appointments — consults, labs, scans, and testing — into a single, efficient visit.
- Lodging. We’ll help you find accommodations to fit your needs, with special rates at nearby hotels and healthcare guest houses.
- Arranging for some care closer to home. You might have some of your treatment at one of our Care Network locations across New York where you’ll receive Roswell Park care from Roswell Park physicians.
- Integrated support. We’ll connect you with the services and resources that can help optimize your treatment, ease your symptoms and lift your burden.
- Virtual visits. For some patients, initial consultations or follow-up visits may be done virtually.
If you are traveling from outside the United States, please see our information for International Patients.
We try to coordinate the support you may need with your clinical visit and testing, so when you come, it’s an efficient, productive and effective appointment.Kimberly Sweeney, MBA, BN, RN, Vice President of Patient Experience
I had to remind myself that I have only one life and it's worth fighting for! I decided I at least owed myself a consultation at Roswell Park and then I could make an informed decision. Given the results, I would have flown back and forth if I needed to.
When Jamie’s local physician said that her cancer treatment would involve removing her stomach, she knew she wanted a second opinion. Roswell Park offered her an advanced gastric procedure that saved her stomach, and much more.
