Before completing the inquiry form, please review our structured internship programs to determine whether you are eligible for an existing program. If you do not qualify for a structured program, you may submit this inquiry form for consideration.

Eligibility and application Structured internship programs

Please note:

  • Submission of this inquiry form does not guarantee placement in an internship.
  • Internship opportunities are limited.
  • All out-of-program internships are unpaid, volunteer experiences.
  • Interns must commit to a minimum internship period of 40 hours per month for at least one month. Schedules and work hours will be determined by the mentor and intern if a placement is offered.
  • Forms must be submitted at least 2 months in advance of potential internship dates.
  • An unofficial transcript and CV/resume are required.
  • If you are matched with a mentor and the internship is for school credit, an affiliation agreement will be required.

Identify possible mentor(s)

Before submitting your inquiry, you are expected to explore the Roswell Park website and identify 1-3 faculty members, physicians, or other professionals whose work aligns with your interests.

Please list the names of the mentors you are interested in working with on the inquiry form. Providing specific areas of interest will help us determine whether a potential opportunity may be available.

Eligibility requirements

  • US Citizens or Permanent Residents.
  • 16 years of age or older at the time of the internship. Parental/legal guardian consent is required for participants under 18 years of age.
  • Enrolled in high school or an accredited domestic college/university and in good academic standing.

  • If one or more of the mentors you identified are available and interested in supporting an intern, they may contact you directly to schedule a discussion regarding your interests, availability, and potential internship opportunities.
  • Due to the high volume of inquiries and limited availability, not all mentors will be able to accommodate internship requests.
  • If the mentor(s) you identified do not have availability or are unable to support an intern at this time, you may not receive a response.
