Biography

After receiving my BA in Studio Art from Wesleyan University, I went on to study medicine and pathology at the University of Rochester. Currently, I am a staff pathologist in cytopathology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. As a cytopathologist, I examine cells microscopically to determine if they have morphologic features consistent with malignancy. I am also a physician-scientist who has investigated the neuroimmune consequences of anxiety and depressive disorders for nearly three decades. I am particularly interested in the role of anxiety in neuroimmune dysregulation and the development of molecular-based countermeasures to protect against stress-associated carcinogenesis.
