About Doretta Johnson
Biography:
Doretta Johnson MA, CASAC, is a licensed credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselor with over 20 years of experience working in addiction treatment with various age groups, holds a master’s degree in Mental Health and worked as a counselor in an outpatient methadone maintenance program.
Doretta joined Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in June of 2021 in Anesthesia Pre-op as a Cardiology Liaison. In April 2022, she transitioned to her current role as Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Coordinator.
Highlights included facilitating structured didactic peer groups with a strengths-based approach and integrating cognitive behavioral therapy concepts into treatment sessions. By utilizing evidence-based techniques of practicing mindfulness, meditation, and motivational interviewing, Doretta has coached individuals over the years to overcome daily challenges.
As an EAP Coordinator, Doretta works to promote work-life balance, support employee’s emotional wellbeing, increase employee morale and productivity, and foster employee retention. She conducts assessments and refers employees to various community resources.
