A Post-doctoral Associate position is now available in the Bio-behavioral Health and Recovery Laboratory led by Dr. Christine Sheffer at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. The postdoctoral associate will contribute to NIH-funded research studies employing brain stimulation, behavioral economics, and neuro-economic approaches to address substance use, addiction, and health behaviors using both human laboratory and clinical trial methodologies.
Our lab seeks to understand and examine bio-behavioral mechanisms underlying health behaviors. While our primary focus is tobacco and nicotine use, we have multiple projects that focus on cannabis use, addictions, and health behaviors like physical activity. This post-doctoral training is designed to support the development of a career as an independently funded researcher. Research duties will involve coordinating studies, delivering brain stimulation protocols, contributing to a variety of research projects, authoring and co-authoring several manuscripts per year, assisting with grant writing, collaborating with multiple investigators, and attending professional conferences. The associate will create an Individual Development Plan with their mentors as well as complete Tobacco Treatment Specialist training as well as training in transcranial magnetic stimulation.
Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, is a highly collaborative environment, with outstanding opportunities to interact with scientists and clinicians at the forefront of translational research.
