The new version of the patient portal app – MyRoswell v1.0.34 – introduces a “Share To” feature that allows patients to easily upload photos, videos and documents directly from their individual Photo apps to their MyRoswell Media Library.
“To use the new feature, users simply select the media they want to share, for example a photo from their Photos app, tap the native ‘Share’ button and choose MyRoswell from the list,” explains David Brenner, an IT programmer/analyst at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. “They’ll be directed to the upload screen, where they can either upload the image or cancel if they decide not to share. The feature will be available to users on both iOS and Android.” Patients do need to be logged into the MyRoswell portal for the share feature to work.
If your app doesn’t update automatically, download it
MyRoswell v1.0.34 should update automatically for patients who already have the app installed as long as the settings say, “update automatically.” If the setting has been changed to “update manually,” patients will need to download the new version of the MyRoswell Patient Portal app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
“Whether it’s a picture of a prescription, a document, or something related to your care, sharing it securely has never been easier,” says Brenner.
How to use the new “Share To” feature
In order for the feature to work, you must be registered and logged into the MyRoswell patient portal, and have MyRoswell v1.0.34 installed on your phone or computer.
- Open your Photos or Gallery app. Locate the photo you’d like to share.
- Tap the “Share” icon. On most devices, this looks like a box with an arrow pointing up.
- Select the “MyRoswell” app. Scroll through your sharing options and tap on the “Patient Portal” app. (First time? You may need to tap "More" or "Add apps" to find it.)
- Upload Securely. Tap the green button in the bottom right corner, confirm your selection, tap upload and your photo is delivered directly to your care team.
