Cloth Masks to Be Distributed to Roswell Park Patients

Cloth masks are now being handed out to our patients and visitors, per updated guidance from the CDC about wearing face coverings in public. They are distributed alongside CDC instructions to our patients and visitors. As a specialty cancer hospital that is not a general care facility for those with or suspected to have COVID-19, Roswell Park is grateful to be able to offer the masks as as an extra layer of protection for our visitors and patients who are coming to Roswell Park for cancer care services. Our clinical staff also continue to wear procedure masks and other personal protective equipment as necessary throughout their day. protection for those with whom the patients come in contact. They are distributed alongside CDC instructions to our patients and visitors, per updated guidance from the CDC about wearing such masks in public. Read more about the recommendations from the CDC.

The Roswell Park community expresses our sincere thanks to everyone who has been donating masks or other supplies to benefit our patients and staff — among them Clinical Chief of Breast Surgery Dr. Kazuaki Takabe’s son, Yamato, and a group of his fellow students at the Nichols School, pediatrician Dr. Martina Puzanov (wife of Dr. Igor Puzanov), a mother and son who are both former Roswell patients and the Chinese Club of Western New York. We are so grateful for your thoughtfulness and generosity!
