Today, on a call with officials from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, nurses from teams across Roswell Park learned that they earned Magnet® Recognition for nursing excellence. The designation follows an in-depth review, and signifies that Roswell Park nurses have met stringent standards for nursing excellence in patient care delivery.

The GVHD Alliance honored Shernan Holtan, MD, Chief of Blood and Marrow Transplantation at Roswell Park, with the 2025 Lukas D. Wartman Award. The recognition acknowledges Dr. Holtan’s contributions to improving outcomes for patients battling graft-versus-host disease, a common complication of blood stem cell transplantation.

The Roswell Park Alliance Foundation is proud to announce the hiring of Kate Kaming into a newly created role for the organization. Kaming will serve as the Vice President for Development for the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation and the Senior Executive Director for Grateful Patient Philanthropy for Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.

A new study published in the journal Nature Communications, led by Agnieszka Witkiewicz, MD, and Erik Knudsen, PhD, of Roswell Park, highlights the therapeutic impact of CDK2 inhibitors as treatment for cancers including some breast and pancreatic tumors.
