BUFFALO, N.Y. — In a move that strengthens access to world-class cancer care across New York State, St. Peter’s Health Partners (SPHP) and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center have joined forces to ensure that patients in the Capital Region can receive the latest in evidence-based cancer treatment and research innovations.
Established in 2019, the Roswell Park Care Network is a dynamic alliance of medical providers committed to delivering exceptional, guideline-driven care to patients across New York state and beyond. Becoming part of the network allows SPHP to offer even greater access to the latest treatment options and clinical trials, as well as advanced telemedicine via Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, the only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center in upstate New York.
“We are thrilled to work collaboratively with SPHP to expand access to the most innovative cancer treatment options in the Capital Region,” says Sai Yendamuri, MD, MBA, FACS, Chief Strategy Officer and Chair of Thoracic Surgery at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. “We remain steadfast in our dedication to bring the expertise of our nationally designated cancer center to more patients, no matter where they live. Patients served by this affiliation will not only benefit from the care of excellent oncologists, but also the consultation of a whole team of multidisciplinary cancer experts back in Buffalo to help ensure all options are considered and the most appropriate treatment plan identified for each individual.”
“St. Peter’s Health Partners has a proud tradition of delivering innovative, compassionate, and personalized cancer care to patients across the Capital Region. Our partnership with Roswell Park strengthens that legacy by bringing nationally recognized expertise in medical oncology directly to our community — ensuring patients have access to advanced, cutting-edge treatment in the trusted setting of our Cancer Care Center,” says Steven Hanks, MD, president & CEO of St. Peter’s Health Partners and St. Joseph’s Health.
