BUFFALO, N.Y. — Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center has been named by Forbes to its lists of America’s Best Employers for Women and America’s Best In-State Employers. Working with market research firm Statista to rank the companies, Forbes announced both lists this month.

For its Best Employers for Women list, Forbes and Statista surveyed more than 146,000 women working for companies that employ at least 1,000 people in the United States. Participants were asked to rate their current employers in areas such as pay equity, career development, parental leave, work-life balance, benefits for childcare or eldercare, and the company’s handling of incidents related to sexual misconduct or discrimination. Statista also researched the percentage of women in executive and board positions at each company. Roswell Park is the only Western New York healthcare organization on the list of 700 companies.

Roswell Park was also recognized on Forbes’ Best Employers by State listing, ranked as the top healthcare organization in New York and in the top 15 among overall employers. This is the fifth consecutive year that Roswell Park has made the list. For it, Statista surveyed more than 245,000 employees who work for a company of at least 500 people in the country. Survey respondents were asked how likely they were to recommend their employer on a scale of zero to 10 on topics such as wages and benefits, management style, company reputation, flexibility and career advancement.

Earlier this year, Roswell Park was named to Forbes list of America’s Best Employers for Company Culture and Newsweek’s list of World’s Best Specialized Hospitals
