PGY-2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency training builds upon the foundations of pharmacy practice established during Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency experience.
The purpose of the Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center’s PGY-2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency is to prepare clinical pharmacists for board certification in oncology pharmacy, advanced patient care, academic opportunities, and research to advance our profession.
During your ASHP-accredited, twelve-month, PGY-2 Oncology Pharmacy at Roswell Park, you’ll work with cancer patients across the treatment continuum, from recently diagnosed, through active treatment, and into remission in a variety of different cancer types. Our collaborative, interdisciplinary approach puts you on the front lines with our world-renowned physicians, scientists and technicians.
Eligibility and how to apply
Roswell Park’s PGY-2 training requires a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree and completion of a PGY-1 residency program.

ASHP PGY-2 Purpose Statement
PGY2 Residency Programs build upon Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency training to develop pharmacist practitioners with knowledge, skills, and abilities as defined in the educational competency areas, goals, and objectives for advanced practice areas. Residents who successfully complete PGY2 residency programs are prepared for advanced patient care or other specialized positions, and board certification in the advanced practice area, if available.
Core rotations
The Oncology Pharmacy Residency is a 12-month training program. Core and elective rotations are offered in inpatient and outpatient settings.
A research project of publishable quality is required upon completion of the program.
