Confirming your coverage
You’ll need to confirm your coverage with both your health insurance company and Roswell Park.
- Contact your health plan directly to verify your coverage specific to your policy. It’s important to ask the right questions. Use the questions outlined here as a guide to help you receive the accurate information you need when speaking with your insurance plan representative.
- Call Roswell Park at 716-845-4782 to verify that your care at Roswell Park and your physicians are covered by your plan.
In-Network versus Out-of-Network
You want to make sure that both Roswell Park and the physicians caring for you are contracted with your insurance company, so the treatments, services and consultations provided are covered. Your insurance company will tell you whether Roswell Park is In-Network or Out-of-Network for your specific plan.
- In-Network means that your insurance company has an established relationship with Roswell Park and that with your specific plan, much of your care and services will likely be covered. With in-network providers, your own costs, like co-pays, are typically lower.
- Out-of-Network means that Roswell Park does not have a relationship with your insurance company or your specific plan. Medicare and Medicaid
Roswell Park accepts both traditional Medicare (Parts A & B) and New York State Medicaid.
However, Medicare Managed (Part C) and Medicaid Managed plans are different. Please check the list above to see whether Roswell Park is listed as an in-network provider in your specific plan.
If Roswell Park is not in-network, all services will require prior authorization, the insurance may not cover your services, you may have higher out-of-pocket costs, and/or you may not be able to receive services at Roswell Park.
Patients with Medicare coverage may be eligible for co-pay assistance for drug treatments, including chemotherapy. Patients with commercial insurance coverage may be eligible for copay assistance for drugs through a drug company’s assistance program.
