BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Ride for Roswell, presented by the West Herr Automotive Group, has launched registration for the 2021 event, which will take place on Saturday, August 7.

Thousands of riders and volunteers will participate in the Ride for Roswell to raise funds for cancer research and patient-care programs at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in one of two ways: in-person on August 7 or on their own anytime throughout August.

Locations for the in-person Ride include University at Buffalo North Campus, Buffalo Outer Harbor, Niagara County Community College (NCCC), Grand Island and RosRoll Slow Roll in Downtown Buffalo. To ensure the health and safety of participants, 50 riders will depart every 20 minutes. Fourteen routes range from three to 100 miles, offering an option for riders of all ages and experience level.

For riders looking to create a DIY experience, the ride your own way option is available for 2021. This allows individuals, families or teams to create their own ride experience by selecting a date, location and route that suits their schedule and experience level.

“The Ride community has proven over the last 26 years that they are unstoppable and that’s why we were committed to finding a way to ride together safely again this year,” says Andrea Gregory, Director of Event Fundraising at the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation. “If we’ve learned anything over the last year, it’s that cancer doesn’t stop. There are still loved ones in our community being diagnosed with cancer and funds raised during the Ride are bringing hope to cancer patients and their families right here in WNY.”

There is no registration fee and no fundraising minimum for the 2021 Ride. To learn more about the locations, routes, rewards and to register, visit www.rideforroswell.org.

The Ride is the single largest fundraising event in Western New York and the state’s largest single-day cycling fundraiser. Since 1996, riders and volunteers have raised more than $57 million for cancer research and patient care programs at Roswell Park. The funds raised through the Ride for Roswell have helped Roswell Park researchers investigate new treatment options; facilitated clinical trials for both common and rare types of cancers; supported the costs of important medical testing not covered by insurance; and made possible quality of life programs that assist with non-medical needs and help patients remember that cancer doesn’t define them.
