Patients can designate a loved one to see them within set time ranges
- New policy takes effect Saturday, February 13
- Designated individual may come for in-person visits at set dates/times
- Existing safety protocols, including screening of visitors, will continue
BUFFALO, N.Y. — With new COVID-19 case totals in Erie County declining four weeks in a row and the majority of its staff now vaccinated, Roswell Park Comprehensive Center is once again able to allow inpatient visitation on a limited basis.
Effective this Saturday, February 13, Roswell Park inpatients can designate one person to visit during their entire hospital stay, with visitation available during the following days and times:
- Wednesdays, 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.
- Saturdays and holidays, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Guidelines stay the same — all patients and guests must be screened for symptoms and travel at the Roswell Park front entrance, wear proper face masks and practice good hand hygiene. Patients with or suspected to have COVID-19 cannot have visitors.
“We are thrilled to safely welcome back friends and family of patients with open arms,” said Pamela Giesie, MSN, RN, NEA-BC, CNOR, FABC, Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Services at Roswell Park. “The comfort and support a visitor brings can be so beneficial to a patient’s well-being.”
The policy is subject to change, with Roswell Park’s leadership team closely monitoring local and regional COVID-19 trends including positive testing rate and hospitalizations.
There are several exceptions that remain in place. To learn more, check out our COVID-19 visitation page on the Roswell Park website.
