Dr. Toru Ouchi Selected as Osaka University Global Alumni Fellow

Toru Ouchi, PhD, Professor of Oncology in the Department of Cancer Genetics at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, was selected as an Osaka University Global Alumni Fellow. The award will be presented by the President of Osaka University, Dr. Toshio Hirano, on Saturday, July 25 at the Japan Club in New York City.

Dr. Ouchi, a graduate of the Osaka University School of Medicine, is recognized for his significant achievement in cancer genetics. With this lifetime post, Fellows are expected to continue their work and contribute to Osaka University’s activities outside Japan. Individuals also must hold a full professorship at an academic institution. Osaka University, one of the leading universities in the world, established the Osaka University Global Alumni Fellow to promote international collaboration in education and research.

At Roswell Park, Dr. Ouchi’s scientific endeavors focus on translational research including, genome instability-associated tumor biology; signal transduction and systems biology in stems cells and differentiation; genome methylation and transcription; translational research using animal models of human cancer; and cancer metabolism.
