Biography
Ms. Privitere RN BSN OCN is the Nurse Administrator for 5E which is the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit. She has held this position for 10 years. This is a 14 bed unit that provides acute care for patients with hematologic malignancies. The care includes the administration of high dose chemotherapy as well as bone marrow transplantation both autologous and allogeneic. Patients from the age of 4 to 70’s can receive bone marrow transplants. Ms. Privitere is also the Nurse Administrator for 5N which is the Bone Marrow Transplant Clinic where patients are worked up for upcoming transplants or patients that have received bone marrow transplants receive followup treatment.
Ms. Privitere achieved her BSN from D’Youville College in 1988. She has completed a number of graduate courses and will continue in the fall. She is a certified oncology nurse and has been for the past 7 years. Ms. Privitere is a member of the Oncology Nurses Society and is an active member of Western New York Oncology Nurses Society. She has had numerous poster presentations at ONS Congress as well as a podium presentation.
Ms. Privitere is an active volunteer for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. She is also an ambassador for the National Marrow Donor Program. As part of the Nurse Administrator group, Ms. Privitere participates in volunteer activities at the Kevin Guest House.
