Indigenous & Rural Patient Navigation in action!

Members of the Center for Indigenous Cancer Research provided information during the Seneca Nation Fall Fest.

As we have reached the latter part of 2021, our patient navigators have undergone extensive  training and have been hard at work in the field. We also added two additional navigators to our program, Kelly Standage, MS, and Laura Brady, PhD, who will be working with our rural communities. Because our Indigenous & Rural Patient Navigation Program is new, a lot of our initial work has been community outreach, including participation at the Newtown and Pinewoods Field Days, Fall Fest, and outreach at Seneca Iroquois National Museum. Our patient navigators have been working closely with patients and community members that need our assistance with insurance issues, appointment and screening scheduling, finding additional financial assistance, and other support.

We understand that cancer prevention and screening is confusing and many do not know where to start. We can help. Connect with one of our patient navigators to learn what screenings you might need now.   Call 1-888-RPGUIDE (1-888-774-8433).
