Arwen Tisdale, MS
Arwen Tisdale, MS

Arwen Tisdale, MS

Research Technologist

Arwen has been performing cancer research since 2010. She began by studying the development of vulvar cancer in response to ultra-potent corticosteroids at SUNY Geneseo while she obtained her BS in biochemistry. This translational research was performed in collaboration with the OB/GYN department at Strong Memorial Hospital and the University at Rochester. She went on to obtain her Masters degree in interdisciplinary cancer sciences from the University at Buffalo and Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Graduate Division under the direction of Dr. Sharon Evans. Her thesis investigated the potential sex bias in lymphocyte trafficking in response to fever-range thermal stress, an immunotherapy. She has been the manager and research technologist for the Feigin Lab since its inception in 2017.

Aditi Chaubey, PHD
Aditi Chaubey, PhD

Aditi Chaubey, PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow

Aditi received her BS in biotechnology from University of Pune and went on to pursue MS in biotechnology from the same university. She worked as a PhD student in Dr. Denise Ferkey’s lab at University at Buffalo, studying modulation of aversive circuits based on sex differences, and role of gap junctions in modulating GPCR based aversive responses in the nematode C. elegans.

Abby Cornwell
Abby Cornwell

Abby Cornwell

PhD Student

Abby received her BS in biochemistry with an English minor from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Under the supervision of Dr. Arne Gericke, her thesis investigated the propensity for self-association of the N-terminal domain of annexin A2 in the presence of anionic lipids. She is currently a fifth year PhD student in the Pharmacology and Therapeutics Program at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center through the University at Buffalo. Her thesis project is focused on analyzing the impact of benzodiazepines on the pancreatic tumor microenvironment and chemotherapeutic efficacy.

Abdul Alahmari
Abdul Alahmari

Abdul Alahmari

PhD Student

Abdul received his BS from King Khalid University, KSA in Medical Laboratory Sciences and his MS from Quinnipiac University in biomedical sciences. He then worked as a postgraduate fellow at Yale University under the supervision of Dr. Fred Gorelick and investigated the role of cigarette smoke and its toxins in sensitization and initiation of pancreatitis. Abdul is currently a fourth year PhD student in the Cancer Genetics, Genomics and Development Program at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Abdul’s PhD project focuses on studying the role of alternative polyadenylation genes in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and how these can be targeted for the treatment of pancreatic cancer.

Kathryn Maraszek
Katie Maraszek

Katie Maraszek

Rotation Student

Katie graduated from the University at Buffalo with a BS in biochemistry and a minor in pharmacology and toxicology. She worked as an undergraduate in the Feigin lab with Abby studying the impact of benzodiazepines on the pancreatic tumor microenvironment. She is a first-year student in the Cancer Sciences PhD program at Roswell Park through the University at Buffalo.
