BUFFALO, N.Y. — Lee Hales, BS, CMD, Chief Medical Dosimetrist in the Department of Radiation Medicine at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, has been named to a one-year term as President-Elect of the American Association of Medical Dosimetrists (AAMD), an international professional organization with approximately 4,000 members. He expects to serve the organization as a leader for three years, including successive terms as president and past president.

Medical dosimetrists are professionals who design radiation treatment plans specific to each cancer patient’s prescription, using state-of-the-art imaging and graphic technologies and working in close collaboration with other radiation oncology professionals. “Lee’s election is a direct result of his reputation within the national medical dosimetry community as a strong leader and administrator, coupled with his reputation as an exceptionally talented medical dosimetrist and educator,” says Matthew Podgorsak, PhD, Chief Medical Physicist at Roswell Park.
