Media Advisory: Roswell Park Employee Group to Host Jan. 17 Tribute to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

WHAT: AREN, the African-American Roswell Employee Network at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, invites Western New Yorkers to attend Better Healthcare for All: the third annual Community Gathering to Celebrate the Life & Times of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The ceremony will feature recitation of selections from King’s “I Have a Dream” speech by the Rev. Kinzer Pointer, pastor of Agape Fellowship Baptist Church; musical performances by the Futures Academy Chorus from PS 37 and the Martin Luther King Multicultural Drum Quartet from PS 39; remarks from Roswell Park Executive Vice President Brian Springer; and presentation of two “Capturing the Dream” Recognition Awards to Roswell Park employees. The Rev. James Lewis, III, PhD, pastor of Miracle Missions Full Gospel Church and Director of Pastoral Care at Erie County Medical Center, will give the keynote address. Also participating will be the Rev. Dwayne Jones, Pastor of Mount Aaron Missionary Baptist Church, and the Rev. Milton French, Pastor of Second Temple Baptist Church.
