Dunkin’ Donuts “Mug of Hope” Fundraiser a Success

Local efforts raise $100,000 for Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center

BUFFALO, NY – A caffeine-fueled fundraising effort for Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, launched by Dunkin’ Donuts right before the holidays, culminated today when local franchisees presented Roswell representatives with a check for $100,000. The money was raised through sales of the inaugural “Mug of Hope.”  Franchisees, Roswell staff and patients all gathered at the Institute this morning to celebrate the success of Dunkin’s fundraising efforts and support.

In addition, the Paint Box Project artists’ whose work was featured on the mug, were there for the celebration. They include Amada Bentley, Shannon Colligan, Joseph Westphal, Karissa Langridge and Allie Chimera.

Local franchisees pledged unlimited coffee refills for the entire year (a value estimated at more than $500 if used daily) to any customer who purchased the “Mug of Hope,” which was designed using artwork created by Roswell’s young artists of The Paint Box Project®.

“We know how important Roswell Park is to this community, and to communities beyond Buffalo,” said Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee Mike Minigell. “The research and treatment that happen here produce miracles and hope, and we feel so lucky to have partnered with such a force in this community to raise money for research!”

“This success is another example of the generosity of individuals and corporations across Western New York,” said Donald L. Trump, MD, FACP, President and CEO of Roswell Park. “We are grateful to all who supported the Mug of Hope, and look forward to continued partnerships with Dunkin Donuts in the fight to save lives.”
