Hot Off Fashion Week, Noted Designer Adam Lippes to Appear at Buffalo Benefit in Mother’s Memory

BUFFALO, NY - Adam Lippes, famed New York City designer known for the wild success of his ADAM collection, will make a rare appearance, returning to his Buffalo roots, on Thursday, October 1 to celebrate his Williamsville store’s one year anniversary, and to raise needed funds for gynecologic cancer research.

Lippes, age 35, had his collection most recently featured at Fashion’s Night Out, September 10, in New York City, and he unveiled his spring 2009 collection during New York Fashion Week on Saturday, September 12.

He will appear at the ADAM store located at 5454 Main Street in Williamsville from 5 to 7 pm. The exclusive event will features cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a guest DJ and live entertainment, plus a raffle to win a trip for two to New York City for ADAM’s fall 2010 fashion show.

The event will not only celebrate the Buffalo store, but members of the Lippes family will be reunited to help raise funds in memory of Sandra F. Lippes, Adam’s late mother, who passed away from ovarian cancer in 2004. Ten percent of all proceeds from the store’s sales between October 1 and October 8 will benefit the Sandra F. Lippes Fund at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. A private dinner for 60 guests will follow the October 1 celebration to raise additional funds. Up to $40,000 is expected to be raised through both endeavors.

The ADAM store in Buffalo was first opened in October 2008 as the company’s second store. Today the ADAM collection is also available at the ADAM flagship store located in the meatpacking district of New York City, ADAM’s e-commerce site http://www.shopadam.com, and over 250 stores in 10 countries around the world, including Bergdorf Goodman, Jeffrey NY, Intermix, net-a-porter.com, Neiman Marcus and Lane Crawford. A third store was recently opened in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. In 2009, MANGO contracted Mr. Lippes to create limited edition collections for men and women that was sold around the world in over 900 MANGO stores.

In August 2007, Adam Lippes was inducted to the prestigious Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). In the October 2007 issue of Vanity Fair, Mr. Lippes was chosen as a member of their elite list, “The Next Establishment,” named as one of the most important young designers of today.
