Roswell Park to Hold Volunteer Recognition Luncheon Monday At Creekside

WHAT:           Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center holds its 55th annual Volunteer Recognition Event

WHEN:           Monday, April 11, 2011, 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

WHERE:         Creekside Banquet Facility

NOTES:          In 2010, 748 volunteers contributed 82,995 hours of service to Roswell Park. Volunteers may be found throughout the Institute — greeting patients and visitors at the front door, staffing the information desk, offering snacks and beverages in waiting rooms or the hospitality room and offering a helping hand wherever needed.         

Monday’s luncheon event will include an awards ceremony. More than 100 volunteers will be recognized for donating their time and talents, including those who have contributed anywhere from 100 hours up to 30 years of service. Volunteers to be recognized range in age from 15 to 87 and include 27 retired Roswell Park scientific researchers.

Organizations around the U.S. are drawing attention to contributions from volunteers as part of Volunteer Appreciation Week, April 10-16, 2011.
