Biography

I serve as the Section Chief of HPB and Endocrine Surgery at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, where I’m focused on delivering high-quality, technically advanced, patient-centered care through a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach.

I believe that every patient deserves a clear plan, timely access to treatment, and the confidence that their care is being guided by both precision and compassion. Whether in the operating room or the clinic, my team and I prioritize strong communication and close collaboration with patients, their families, and referring providers to ensure continuity and trust throughout the treatment journey.

My clinical expertise includes complex liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, and pancreatic surgery for cancer and benign diagnoses, adrenal surgery, and minimally invasive/robotic surgery that helps patients recover faster and return to their lives faster. I also specialize in liver/ hepatic artery infusion (HAI) pump therapy for patients with advanced colorectal liver metastases and intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.

I strongly believe in making decisions with my patients as a part of the team. I am frank with my patients when I do not think that surgery is the best treatment option for them. I want my patients to be completely comfortable with me and my treatment plan before taking them to the operating room.

Before joining Roswell Park, I led a high-volume HPB and endocrine surgery program in Central New York as Section Chief of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery and a tenured Associate Professor of Surgery. I completed dual fellowships in Complex General Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh.

I’m deeply committed to clinical excellence, surgical mastery, surgical education, outcomes-driven research, and strengthening the partnerships that make great cancer care possible. It’s an honor to serve the people of Western and Central New York and to contribute to Roswell Park’s mission of delivering hope through science, compassion, and innovation.
