This is an important notice to make you aware of an upcoming construction project on the Roswell Park campus and how it may affect your next visit.
In the coming weeks, the City of Buffalo will begin a waterline construction project on the Roswell Park campus that will impact Carlton Street (from the Michigan Street intersection to the Ellicott Street intersection). Work is anticipated to begin in March and has the potential to last until May. Roswell Park is working with the City to ensure that the project moves as efficiently as possible. However, please be prepared for potential delays.
The work will be divided into four phases. Please read through the notice below regarding Phase I.
Expected to begin in early-mid March, Carlton Street will be closed from Michigan Street to just before the entrance to the parking ramp (if you usually enter from the Michigan Street side). Construction will take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. and is estimated to last at least three days, weather permitting.
If you use the parking ramp
- You will be re-rerouted to either the Elm Street entrance (directional signs will provide guidance) or you may enter thru the Carlton entrance (from Elm Street, make a right on Carlton).
- You will need to exit at the cashier booths at the Carlton entrance.
- Upon entering the ramp, you may be directed to park on the third floor (considering parking capacity) for access to the bridge connecting to the main hospital. This will assist with wheelchair accessibility and avoiding gravel or other construction road issues. Once you have entered the building, you are encouraged to look for Patient Transport staff to guide you to the screening area.
- Should you park on the ground level, it is important to your safety that you only cross the street at the crosswalk, located on Carlton and Elm Streets, to enter the main hospital.
Please be sure to check your messages for further information on the remaining phases of construction. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work with the City on this necessary project. Should you have any questions, please call the Central Access Center at 716-845-2300 or email AskRoswell@RoswellPark.org.
