Biography
I am Rev. Michael Ashibuogwu, a Catholic priest originally from Nigeria and a member of the Catholic Diocese of Issele-Uku. I was ordained 25 years ago and began my ministry serving parishes in my home diocese before discerning a call that led me to the United States. For more than 18 years, I served in the Catholic Diocese of Phoenix, accompanying individuals and communities through the many seasons of their spiritual lives.
My journey eventually led me to chaplaincy, where I discovered a profound sense of purpose in providing spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff. I completed my Clinical Pastoral Education at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, an experience that deepened my commitment to compassionate presence and holistic care. Today, I serve as a Pastoral Minister within Catholic Health, where I provide care electronically and in person.
Outside of ministry, I enjoy watching sports, playing pickleball, and travelling; activities that help me stay balanced, energized, and connected to the world around me.
It is my privilege to walk with others in moments of need, offering comfort, dignity and hope.
