Bi-Annual Gynecologic Cancer Seminar and the Retirement of Shashikant Lele, MD

This is a clinically-oriented, live Continuing Medical Education (CME) program intended for gynecologists, oncologists, primary-care providers and other health-care professionals who diagnose, treat or manage patients with gynecologic conditions. Participants will learn about enhancing recovery after gynecologic surgery, treatment options for cervical and endometrial cancers, and immunotherapy in cancer with updates in gynecologic oncology and beyond.

There will also be a special ceremony to celebrate Dr. Shashikant Lele for his 37 years of service to the women and the medical community of Western New York.

Target audience

Gynecologists, oncologists, primary care providers, and other cancer health-care professionals, including NPs, PAs, and RNs.

Educational objectives

Following this program, participants should be able to:

  • Describe how to enhance recovery following gynecologic cancer surgery.
  • Review the current approach to immunotherapy in oncologic care.
  • Discuss treatment options for cervical and endometrial cancers.
  • Compare the past, present and future of cervical cancer prevention.

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists has assigned up to 2 cognate credits per session in this program.

Important parking information

There will be street closures on September 24 for the Cruisin for a Cure event — Carlton St., (except the entrance to the parking ramp) and Elm St. will be closed beginning at 7:00 a.m. All traffic will have to enter onto Carlton St. from Michigan Ave. and exit back onto Michigan.

The only parking ramp entrance that will be open is Carlton St. The GPS address for the ramp is 665 Elm St., Buffalo, however, please keep in mind the street closure. The Roswell Park parking ramp is across the street from the main hospital entrance and the Research Studies Center — where this program will occur. There is no fee for parking, as the ramp gate arms will be up after 7:00 a.m.

Covid-19 safety protocols

  • All Roswell Park event staff and event attendees will follow the Roswell Park policy ICS-112 COVID-19 Safety Precautions.
  • The applicable Roswell Park COVID-19 safety protocols will be posted on the symposium website and emailed to all registered participants.
  • Public Safety will be notified of the seminar dates and activities.
  • COVID-19 symptom screening questions and guidance will be on posters placed at the RSC building entrance to remind all attendees of Roswell Park’s infection prevention and control procedures and not to attend the event if feeling ill or presenting with any symptoms.
  • Any participant feeling ill/presenting with symptoms shall not attend the seminar events and will be asked to return home or to their hotel room.
  • Hand sanitizer and procedure masks will be available at the RSC entrances for all participants.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available for use at the lunch sessions.
  • Roswell event staff will work to space the lunch seating as feasible to maximize distancing.

Cancellation Policy
