About Melissa Spencer

Biography:

I am a Buffalo transplant, originally from the Chicagoland area. I attended Grand Valley State University with a BS and a minor in Exercise Science in 1995. Soon after graduation I joined the Peace Corps and served in Malawi, Africa as a Child Survival Officer. This exposure sparked my career pathway towards Physician Assistant. I attended Duke University for my graduate studies in Physician Assistant and was awarded a National Health Service Corps Scholarship. I was able to repay my scholarship by working at Sheehan Hospital in Buffalo for two years in the Family Medicine Department. Buffalo soon became my home after meeting my spouse. We have a teenage daughter and a fun-loving Golden Doodle.
