Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center's LGBTQIA2S+ Employee Network & Resource Group invite you to a day of education, resources and an exchange of valuable knowledge.

Coffee and refreshments will be available in the morning, followed by a catered lunch.

Learning objectives:

  • increase knowledge and awareness about specific cancer-related issues among the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
  • increase awareness and understanding of barriers and challenges to cancer screening and treatment among the LGBTQIA2S+ community.
  • increase understanding about LGBTQIA2S+ cancer care from the perspectives of patients and health care providers, including issues related to physical, social/emotional, and mental health care.
  • share information and available resources about cancer prevention, screening, and treatment among community health care providers and outreach/wellness staff in Western New York.

Executive Director, National LGBTQI+ Cancer Network
They/He

Scout, PhD, (they/he) is the Executive Director of the National LGBTQI+ Cancer Network and the principal investigator of both the CDC-funded LGBTQI+ tobacco-related cancer disparity network and Out: The National Cancer Survey. They spend much of their time providing technical assistance for tobacco and cancer focusing agencies expanding their reach and engagement with LGBTQI+ populations. Scout has a long history in health policy analysis and a particular interest in ensuring research includes LGBTQI+ people. Their work has won them recognition from the U.S. House of Representatives, two state governments, and many city governments. 

Scout is an openly nonbinary and trans father of three, a vegetarian, an avid hiker and climber.
