Biography

I started at Roswell Park in 2005 with the Data Bank and BioRepository (DBBR) in the Clinical Research Associate I position, recruiting solid tumor patients in outpatient clinics to participate in the DBBR. In my first role here, I was able to gain experience in conducting informed consent, educating patients and families on research opportunities, and collaborating with clinical team members to integrate research activities into existing patient appointments.

After a few years in the CRA role, I was promoted to the position of Data Bank and BioRepository Recruitment Coordinator. In this position, I was tasked with supervising the team of recruiters for the DBBR. I was responsible for oversight of all patient-facing responsibilities associated with the DBBR including eligibility screening, consent and enrollment, and sample coordination. I was also responsible for meeting with investigators in order to create enrollment plans for study-specific requests outside of standard prospective sample and survey banking. During this time I completed my Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in Epidemiology.

In 2022, I was promoted to Biospecimen Research Recruitment Manager. In this position I continue to oversee the recruitment team responsible for the Universal consent. I also plan, implement, and supervise recruitment activities for all non-intervention studies utilizing this shared resource for study management. My expertise is in proper informed consent procedures, study participant identification and eligibility confirmation, and research study biospecimen coordination for both prospective banking and active procurement requests. In 2024, with the merger of the three biobanks into one comprehensive integrated biobanking system under the Biorepository and Laboratory Services (BLS) Shared Resource, I continue to oversee all recruitment and patient-facing activities relevant to BLS.
