About Eileen Purcell

Biography:

I have 26 years experience as an RN, I started my career in a Nursing Home setting and moved to Rochester's Strong Memorial Hospital as an RN in the Burn/Trauma ICU. I continued my RN career back in Buffalo at ECMC, my primary location was the Burn Unit but I also worked in the Trauma Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, Medical Intensive Care Unit, and the Level I Trauma Emergency Room.

I obtained my Family Nurse Practitioner Degree in 2006 and my Post-Master's Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Degree in 2012. I started my career at Roswell Park in 2007 in the new Pre-op Anesthesia Clinic. I was a key contributor to the establishment of this very successful clinic. I transitioned to a new position, Critical Care Nurse Practitioner in 2009, where we established the Intermediate Care Unit. This has been a source of pride and accomplishment for myself and my coworkers. In addition to my full time position here, I have worked in multiple per deim positions including Sub-acute Rehab and Long term Care, Primary Care, Hospitalist, Internal Medicine, Cardiothoracic, Medical ICU, and Ventilator Weaning unit. I have experience as a Nursing Instructor for undergraduate and graduate Nursing students. I love my career and profession here at Roswell Park!
